Spiders are air-breathing arthropods that have eight legs and chelicerae with fangs that inject venom. They are the largest order of arachnids and rank seventh in total species diversity among all other orders of organisms.

Size : 3/4 inches to 3/8 inches

Shape : Round

Color : Black with characteristic red hourglass on back
Diet :The black widow generally eats other insects that fall or get trapped onto their web. This includes houseflies, mosquitoes and many flying and crawling insects.

Treatment:

Spraying with suitable acaricides (chemicals) at the areas infested by spider’s upto safely accessible heights. Cracks and crevices, corners of walls, wall and ceiling junctions will be treated. The cobwebs have to be removed prior to treatment by the client to avoid staining of the walls due to the cobweb dust. In critical non spray areas such as production in sensitive industries the cobwebs to be removed by the client by using vacuum cleaner etc.

Frequency:

Quarterly i.e. four times a year however for industrial establishments the frequency shall be decided based on the type of premises, the level of infestation and the immediate surroundings.
